ASRA 2024 ROUND-UP.

Next-Gen Media have just wrapped another incredible few days at the ASRA Association for Student Residential Accommodation conference up in Aberdeen 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

From insightful discussions on how education providers currently share their messages with their residents, to catching up with new & existing partners and meeting some inspiring people who are making their halls a great place to live 🏡

Our Partnerships Director even delivered an insightful talk around how providers can ‘Level up their Internal Communication’ with an in-depth case study from our good friends over at University of Nottingham.

Just incase you missed it, or if you’re curious, here are some of the key takeaways from that session:

The Power of Naivety 👉

This can be a good thing. Never underestimate this when you are entering in any project, exploring an idea or wanting to start your own business. Ignorance is bliss as they say, and the right amount can shield you from the mountain of hard work that lays ahead.

Blend your Messages 👉

Sharing a mixture of internal & external messages is the best recipe for engagement. Rebooking information and ResLife events are important to them but not all year round. Ultimately students chose to live with you to also explore a new country or city and find out everything that has to offer too.

Use Offline & Online Channels 👉

There is no singular platform for getting a message across to Gen-Z – the best formula is a mixture of online & offline with the best results being targeted socials & billboards & audio. One successful example was a student-led internal podcast, subsidised by the provider.

Last but not least…

Congratulations to Carolyne from the Royal Holloway, University of London for taking home our grand prize – a £200 experience day voucher. Enjoy!

ASRA 2025, see you next year 🚀
